Operates a between 1.88 and 1.90GHz. Its radio interface based on a multiple carrier time division multiple access scheme. There are 10 carriers each divided into 24 time slots - 12 receive and 12 transmit (duplex). Accordingly a DECT base station can support up to 120 speech channels with each slot supporting 32kbits/s ADCM coded speech. The overall data rate supported is 1.154 Mbits/s but part of that is management and header data. The range is ± 300m line of sight
