> 1.Decide what color you wish to make each ornament and place
> one of the Christmas cookie cutters on the chosen felt and
> draw around it two times with the disappearing marker. The
> ornament can be the same color on both sides or two different
> colors. Do this for each ornament you wish to make.
> 2.Use the scissors to cut out each drawn out shape and place the
> two matching sides together. Some trimming may be necessary
> to make the two sides even and equal in size.
> 3.Lay out a piece of the wax paper to use as a work area and
> place the two sides of an ornament on the wax paper. Use the
> desired colors of fabric paint or fabric markers to paint any
> desired decoration or facial features on the ornament. Facial
> features can also be added using the buttons etc. if desired,
>but
> these decorations are added after the two sides of the
>ornament
> have been glued together. If you are using the fabric paint,
>be
> sure the tip of the paint bottle is really touching the felt
>so the
> paint will adhere properly. You can paint or draw the same
> design on each side of the ornament or make the ornament
> completely different on each side. If you are using the fabric
> paint, place the painted ornaments aside somewhere so they
> can dry undisturbed for eight to ten hours to let the fabric
>paint
> dry completely.
> 4.Use the scissors to cut a six inch piece of the gold string or
>yarn
> for each of the ornaments made.
> 5.After the paint has dried, run a bead of glue about a fourth
>of
> an inch or so inside the edge of the unpainted side of one
>side
> of each ornament, leaving about an inch and a half without
>glue
> to allow for inserting the stuffing or batting later. Lay
>about an
> inch of the ends of a piece of the gold string or yarn in the
>glue
> at the top of each ornament with the loop on the outside of
>the
> ornament. Center the other half of the decorated ornament on
> top of the glued half and run your finger around the outside
> edge to seat the felt pieces together. Set the glued ornaments
> aside to dry thoroughly before continuing with the project.
> 6.After the glue has completely dried, use the fabric glue again
>to
> attach any other desired decorations using the suggestions
> given or anything else you have around. Let these glued
> decorations dry completely before continuing.
> 7.Pull off small pieces of the batting or pillow stuffing and
>use
> the pencil or the crochet hook to push the batting or stuffing
> inside each ornament. The crochet hook in particular is very
> handy when it comes to getting the batting or stuffing into
> small areas. After the ornaments have been stuffed as desired,
> use more of the fabric glue to seal up the open area of each
> ornament you used to stuff it. If the ornament is particularly
> fluffy after stuffing it, a clothespin can be used to hold the
>open
> area closed until the glue has dried.
> Note: These ornaments also make great package tie-ons.
