Centerpiece
Got this idea from a cookbook! For a very nice center piece, get a half
>gallon milk carton, clean thoroughly. Cut off top of carton along the
>folded edges, Place empty wine(substitute with sparkling cider, etc) bottle
>in center of carton. Starting at base of bottle, arrange a layer of
>flowers or whatever you would like in a nice design. Add about 2 inches of
>distilled water; freeze. (It might be necessary to place a wedge between top
>of bottle and shelp above sot that the bottle remains upright and stable.
>
>When water is frozen, remove carton from freezer. Insert additional flowers
>etc into carton; add 2 more inches of distilled water. Freeze. Continue to
>do this until the water level is just below, the top of the shoulder of the
>bottle.
>
>When water is frozen, remove carton from freezer and let stand 10 minutes.
>Tear away carton.
>
>Remove empty bottle from ice: Fill bottle with hot water; let sit about 1
>minute, then gently rotate bottle by its neck to loosen; pull straight out.
>Replace with unopened bottle of wine you plan to serve and decant into
>bottle frozen in ice. Present on a napkin-lined tray or in a saucer with a
>deep rim.
>
>It is very important that you use the same type of bottle to freeze, that
>you use for the dinner, otherwise the new bottle will not fit.
