Afghan-Half Double Crochet
HALF DOUBLE CROCHET AFGHAN
* * This is my original pattern * *
MATERIALS: Size J (or any size) hook, 2 colors 4 ply worsted weight yarn.
DIRECTIONS:
With color A, ch any multiple of 5 to desired width of afghan. (Note: Number of sts
across will be number of beginning ch minus 2.)
Row 1: Hdc in 2rd ch from hook and in each of the next 2 chs, ch 2, sk next 2 chs, hdc
in each of the next 3 chs, (ch 2, sk next 2 chs, hdc in next 3 chs) across.
Row 2: Ch 5, turn, 2 hdc in first ch-2 sp, (ch 3, 2 hdc in next ch-2 sp) across. End with
ch 3, hdc in last st.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, 3 hdc in first ch-3 sp, (ch 2, 3 hdc in next ch-3 sp) across.
Row 4: Repeat row 2, finish off color A.
Row 5: Join color B in same st, ch 1, turn. (3 hdc in first ch-3 sp, hdc in next 2 hdc)
across. End with 3 hdc in last ch-3 sp.
Row 6: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc here and throughout), turn, hdc in each hdc across,
finish off color B.
Row 7: Attach color A to same st, ch 2, turn. Hdc in next 2 hdc, (ch 2, skip next 2 hdc,
hdc in next 3 hdc) across.
Row 8-10: Repeat Rows 2-4.
Repeat rows 5-10 until afghan is desired length.
