Epidermis:
The outer layer of the skin. The epidermis is also the
thinnest layer, responsible for protecting you from the harsh environment. The
epidermis is made up of five layers of its own: stratum germinativum, stratum
spinosum, stratum granulosum, stratum lucidum and stratum corneum.
